Talkin Cordwood at IMAGINE RIT Festival May 1st 2010

Hello All,

We just had our 1st May meetup at the IMAGINE RIT Festival. They estimated 32, 000 people to be there and it had to at least hit or exceed that number. Our cordwood demonstration was a hit as crowds gathered to see what made up a cordwood wall and why was there a bottle in that wall? The event was a perfect precursor to our 2nd meetup event; a 2-day Cordwood Workshop! We have a few spots left and the value of the workshop just got better as Jim Juczak has now confirmed he will be doing a presentation on building MORTGAGE-FREE at our 2 day cordwood workshop on May 29 & 30th! Jim and his family & friends have created Woodhendge Self Reliance Campus. The Center for the Study of Things Practical and Not So Practical. Woodhenge is an off-grid, renewable energy, alternative building and sustainable agriculture learning center in Northern NY. We had a great time last year and I hope to get the WXXI video loaded up to the site soon if you didn't get a chance to see it the other week. About Us

Our goal is to help lower the environmental impact of the homes and lives of those living in the greater Rochester area. To reach that goal we provide workshops in sustainability, promote local green events, provide a free local resource in sustainable information, and create connections to other green organizations throughout New York. We hope we will be the first stop on your journey to a deeper understanding of sustainability.
