Information: In Site: Architecture’s mission is simple. We create innovative, site-specific solutions to every project. We believe in architecture’s ability to connect us fundamentally to the larger world of which we are a part, and to do so in a way that elevates the function that a building is intended to house. We are delighted to handle a wide range of projects including civic, commercial, religious, and residential work. For each project, IS:A collaborates with clients to produce built works that are responsive to client needs, budgets, and aspirations.

Our design process is a critical part of meeting those needs. We begin with a thorough inventory of physical, emotional, spiritual and technical conditions. Our initial responses are often diagrams which seek to develop and convey a solution with the authority of inevitability and client-architect consensus behind it. We often employ models and perspective sketches as design tools as well as presentation devices. The conceptual ideas are then amplified at the level of detail, so that the intentions of our projects resonate at every scale. Finally, our interest in sustainable principles is woven into the process and married to each client’s own priorities to produce integrated, environmentally innovative architecture.

Our goal is to help lower the environmental impact of the homes and lives of those living in the greater Rochester area. To reach that goal we provide workshops in sustainability, promote local green events, provide a free local resource in sustainable information, and create connections to other green organizations throughout New York.
